Holiday Party Planning with the DeLorean Time Machine

7/15/2019

It’s July. Have you begun to plan your holiday party yet? It’s time to get going. Looking for a theme that is relevant to multiple-generations of employees? Consider a “Back To The Future” party with Doc Browns DeLorean Time Machine. “Back To The Future” has been made new again with mentions on Avengers: Endgame and Season 3 of the hit Netflix show, Stranger Things.

While Doc Brown's DeLorean was not featured at this party, take inspiration from the Oregon Convention Center’s Employee Party from Royce's Prop Shop in Portland, Oragon. “The DeLorean was parked on stage with all the trappings from Marty and Doc’s adventures, creating the focal point of the ballroom and the backdrop for a dramatic center bar station. A bolt of “lightning” connected the time machine to the Hill Valley Courthouse tower at 10:04 and Lou's Café boasted of fun, nostalgic diner fare. Guests enjoyed Colt's travelling firearm shooting game while the stage transitioned from the Enchantment Under the Sea Prom in the 50's to the 80's for a dance party.”

Time to get moving. Tick. Tock.

Using the DeLorean Time Machine for Good

7/2/2019

When Doc launched Doc Brown’s Time Machine Rental back in 2015, he started it to have fun with his DeLorean Time Machine and make a little money, but mostly to have fun. Through the last four or so years, he’s seen the gamut.  He’s been part of special events organized by professional event planners, CEOs, HR managers and Moms. He’s been part of multi-million dollar product launches, employee team-building events, weddings and birthdays. Doc has tons of fun at these events, but the events that Doc is most proud to be part of are the ones where people come together to use fun and community, to fight something horrible…like cancer in a little boy.
Meet Mateo “The Beast” Cota. Mateo has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Mateo’s mom, Erika, has had to take unpaid leave to coordinate Mateo’s care along with her husband Ed and her other two children.
Mateo’s family has rallied community to support to keep alive through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, relapses and a bone marrow transplant. Erika has set up a website with YouTube videos of Mateo’s journey, and a Facebook page that has garnered no less than 16,000 Followers. She has also recruited a Cal Poly fraternity and a sorority to help raise money. When Erika called on Doc to bring the DeLorean to a Family Fun Day Picnic, Doc was more than happy to.
The party for “The Beast” was just one example where the DeLorean Time Machine brought smiles to faces. Doc has been part of special events for hospice, domestic abuse and Parkinson’s Disease – Yes, serious causes – but 80’s parties and “Back To The Future” parties allow those in pain to escape the reality and have some fun, if only a few hours. That makes it all worth it for Doc.

You can support “The Beast” by following him and his family on Facebook or donating here:  http://www.teammateobeast.org/home

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – Doc Brown’s Time Machine Rental is premiering its new “Ready Player One” DeLorean Time Machine at the “Ready Player One Challenge” movie experience in Hollywood beginning March 18, continuing through April 1, 2018. The “Back to the Future” DeLorean is the virtual vehicle of the main character, Wade Owen Watts, screenname Parzival, of Ernest Cline’s bestseller “Ready Player One.” The book is being brought to the screen in the Steven Spielberg directed action adventure film opening on Thursday, March 29th.

The “Ready Player One Challenge” is an experiential, sharable maze located at the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and Vine St., in the heart of Hollywood. The experience is designed for all ages to flee the Real World and discover the OASIS seeking three hidden keys. The Challenge features video walls, interactive shows, nostalgic gaming stations, “set” environments, immersive in-world moments, stay actors, genuine movie props, a film-inspired playlist and a pop-up store with merchandise by Hot Topic. For more information and free tickets, while supplies last, visit www.ReadyPlayerOneChallenge.com

True to the book and the film, Doc Brown’s Time Machine Rental’s “Ready Player One” DeLorean contains the roving red LED front grid element and the PARZIVAL license plate. “We’re honored to be recommended to Warner Bros. by our ‘Ready Player One’ DeLorean fabricator, Coulombe Enterprises, and its owner Bruce Coulombe, for this immersive experience for a film. It is no doubt that ‘Ready Player One’ will become a huge hit franchise. The attention to detail on the new DeLorean Time Machine will not be lost on super-engaged fans of Ernest Cline’s book, 80s pop culture enthusiasts, and the gaming community,” said Nicolette Munoz, spokesperson for Doc Browns Time Machine Rental. The opportunity to sit in Doc Brown’s new “Ready Player One” DeLorean will be the grand finale thrill of immersive and interactive “Ready Player One Challenge.”

Doc Brown’s “Ready Player One” DeLorean is already in high demand. “Currently we expect that the ‘Ready Player One’ DeLorean will be available for new corporate, social and charity event bookings in mid-April,” said Munoz.

Microsoft Holiday Party with a Sci-Fi Theme

1/6/2018

Had the distinct pleasure of being asked to help with the Microsoft Holiday Party this year!  The event was at the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.  They thought of everything.  They had the 501st there with numerous Storm and Scout Troopers, and R2D2 unit, Han Solo frozen in carbonite and a Tardis from Doctor WHO.  They also had a food replicator from the Star Trek Enterprise, which actually served food.

Many people dressed up for the party in a SCI-FI theme and it made it one of the best parties I have been to all year.

If you need a Delorean Time Machine for your next corporate event, tradeshow or party, feel free to reach out to us.

No deeper words can be expressed than those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the people of the State of California.  This event was very moving and helped to raise money for the families of Officers who died in the line of duty.  I was extremely honored to be invited to this event.

In attendance was Baseball legend, Vida Blue, boxing legend, Tony "The Tiger" Lopez, Jeffrey Weisseman, Don Fullilove, Rick Ravanello, Anthony Snow, Rocky McMurray and of course the Sacramento Kings Cheerleaders.

Thanks to all who participated in this great event and thank you to the men and women of the California Highway Patrol.

A huge thanks to Jeffrey Weisseman for helping me connect with Harry Waters Jr...AKA Marvin Berry.  Of course well known in the BTTF community with his band, Marvin Berry and the Starlighters.  Had the pleasure of getting to speak with him for a significant period of time while he was teaching at Sonoma State University.
