How do we make informed predictions about the future? How do we guess about what’s in store for us in our personal and professional lives? How can we plan not just for ourselves, but with empathy for others?
Bryan Alexander is a futurist, researcher, writer, speaker, consultant, and teacher, working in the field of how technology transforms education. Bryan will talk about his work and how you, too, can be a futurist. We’ll even build a prototype artifact from the future to inform our thinking. For more context, read Bryan’s article, Apprehending the Future: Emerging Technologies, from Science Fiction to Campus Reality.
Cal Poly Science Cafe is open to everyone, and held in the second floor cafe lounge area near Julian’s Patisserie. Light refreshments will be served and metered parking is available.
